The “For a Clean Fridingen” campaign on 18.04.2026 has been a huge success once again!

Once again, the “For a Clean Fridingen” clean-up campaign took place in collaboration with Hammerwerk Fridingen, the town council, local schools and nurseries, and local clubs. This spring clean-up campaign once again covered the entire town.

This year’s “town clean-up” got underway on Friday morning with the “Obere Donau” primary and community school, as well as the local nurseries. A total of just under 500 young people and children set to work with enthusiasm, collecting several sacks and containers full of carelessly discarded items, rubbish and other litter. As a small reward, free drinks and pretzels sponsored by Hammerwerk were provided afterwards, both for the childcare facilities and in the school playground.

Divided into nine groups, which gathered at various meeting points in the morning, this exemplary initiative then continued on Saturday. Under the guidance of volunteer “Trash Heroes”, members of numerous local clubs, employees of Hammerwerk and the local council set out to collect and remove “litter” from a wide variety of locations and spaces across our town. The necessary equipment was provided by the Hammerwerk. Also taking part was the Fridingen City Water Fishing Association, which was carrying out a Danube clean-up at the same time. Once again, around 300 residents of all ages took part in this extensive clean-up operation. Afterwards, the rubbish collected was picked up and disposed of by the municipal works department, with the trailer well-loaded with bin bags and buckets. Quite a few participants were rightly shocked by the items and rubbish that are improperly and illegally dumped or thrown away in our beautiful countryside and open spaces.

The Clean-Up Campaign then came to a pleasant close with a joint gathering of all participants at the Hammerwerk, where the company sponsored sausages and free drinks. Both Hammerwerk and the town agree that the Clean-Up Campaign is a successful initiative to counteract the increasing pollution and littering of our countryside and should therefore take place again next year. In recognition of their efforts and commitment to a clean environment, all clubs and schools will subsequently receive a donation from Hammerwerk.
